Catch the Cupcake Craze Austin Style

Austin has just about every delicious, delectable dessert you can imagine. If you enjoy forgetting about those insignificant calories like I do from time to time, take a tour of Austin's cupcake paradise! Sugar Mama's Bakeshop which is a South Austin favorite and Polkadots Cupcake Factory, nestled in the center of campus chaos are two of my beloved choices. Nothing beats Hey Cupcake! which is just a stroll away from my KS retail store. Their cream cheese and chocolate Michael Jackson creation is to die for! Cupcakes are our signature treat at Wednesday Girls Night Out and various other events. I love to try out new palatable flavors and I may even stop by Delish Cupcake this weekend and delight myself in the ever so popular s'more special that I have yet to indulge in. Celebrate Earth Day with Kendra Scott and Her Team!

With its theme of A Billion Acts of Green®, Earth Day 2011 is already on its way to being bigger than last year's 40th anniversary! There are so many simple actions you can take both today and every day to help protect our earth. The question is, what will YOU do to make this day a success? The Earth Day Network is receiving pledges from people around the world and entering them into their sweepstakes to win two smart cars! You can enter your act of recycling, riding a bike, or planting a tree on the Billion Acts of Green website.

Here are a few gratifying green ideas that you can take part in to support mother nature!

I am challenging myself and my team to enjoy Earth Day by paying attention to the beautiful surroundings Austin has to offer. I am also asking that they pick up trash they may see on the ground and take a pledge that they will continue going green for the rest of the year!

Sending KS Love to the Brave Men and Women Overseas!

My dear friend James is so bravely fighting for freedom overseas alongside his troop the Bravo Company. He is on his third tour in Afghanistan, serving as a Marine for our country. The KS team and I have joined forces to put together the ultimate care package for him. We are sending an abundance of magazines, pasta, canned goods, jerky, cleansing wipes, and other necessities to show our appreciation and love! It is the least we can do to say thank you for all that our troops do for us.

Each of the Bravo Company Platoons are executing unique missions. It is incredible to see the impact that they are making on communities in Afghanistan. The 3rd Platoon has recently opened a vocational school where carpentering skills are being taught to both children and adults. These men and women are helping improve school systems in the area and working with citizens to build a local police force. They do so much to help others, and it is crucial that our country rally together and support our troops!

The Bravo Company sadly mourn the loss of two courageous men this month. Staff Sgt. Jeremy Smith and Navy Hospitalman "Doc" Benjamin Rast. This Marine and Sailor made the ultimate sacrifice while honorably serving a country they both loved. We share our condolences with their family and friends. Our prayers and thoughts are with everyone overseas.

This look is a must have for your spring/summer wardrobe.
