Hilary Duff Spotted in Kendra Scott Again!

One of our favorite celebs, Hillary Duff, was seen strutting the red carpet at the Soul Surfer premiere yesterday, March 30th, rocking Kendra Scott once again! Hilary looked chic and fabulous at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinerama Dome in an adorable horizontally striped purple skirt, a black cropped shirt, a sparkly pink clutch, and our popular Karina Earrings in Gold. The feather detailed earrings gave Hilary's edgy-chic look a bit of a contrasting earthy feel. Read on to see how to get Hilary's classy and glamorous look!

For the first look in our spring/summer video shoot, we used two staples that just about every girl has in their closet: a sassy little black dress worn with a chic black blazer. Behind the Scenes: Video Shoot of the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

Last week we transformed the Kendra Scott SOCO boutique into a production studio as I filmed a new video featuring fashion forward looks utilizing some of my favorite pieces from my Spring/Summer Collection. For the video, I had fun styling three gorgeous ladies and taking their unique style from the ordinary to the extraordinary with make-up, edgy new hairstyles and, of course, to-die-for jewels! Stay tuned for the video, but for now take a look at some of the footage from behind the scenes.

My Art Director, Cheryl Mills, and Operations Manager, Denise Chumlea, sort through clothing to find the perfect outfits for the before and after models.

Bringing Sexy Back

Stars like Heidi Klum and Anne Hathaway are showing that the back, is back! Why? It's sexy, suggestive, and somewhat mysterious. I have noticed that celebrities are showing off a little skin and rocking backless dresses at elegant award shows. These ladies radiate beauty and are "bringing sexy back," as Justin Timberlake would say! I have seen this trend at awards shows like the recent 2011 Grammys, and even on the streets of South Congress in Austin. Summer is just around the corner, and in order to cool down from the hot and humid Texas weather, backless tops, rompers, and dresses will definitely be my go to outfits for the next few months! Hilary attended the school to support the philanthropy Blessings in a Backpack. She paired the Danielle Earrings with a chic slouchy sweater and looked amazing!

Kendra Scott Press Trend: Pairing Complimentary Colors

Here at Kendra Scott Design, we have a bit of an obsession with color, so you can imagine my excitement when the March issues of both Fitness Magazine and Chicago Magazine brilliantly paired some of my most vibrant pieces with complimentary colors that really made the gorgeous hues pop! When wearing a color, adding its complimentary color (the color opposite to it on the color wheel) as an accessory is a great and unexpected way to accentuate both shades.

Chicago Magazine complimented this amazing red printed Oscar de la Renta dress with the Kendra Scott Ignacia Necklace in Malachite.

Fitness Magazine paired the Kendra Scott Fina Earrings in Crush with a light blue striped top and navy cropped pants, making an adorable outfit that's perfect for a spring outing.

Mixing pairs of complimentary colors has been a trend on the Spring 2011 runways, especially the orange and blue complimentary mix. Tory Burch, Prada, Christian Dior, and Costume National all incorporated this eye-catching mix into their lines. In case you want to try this look out for spring, here are some of my suggestions!

Sexy Summer Swimwear Accessories

Temperatures are rising and it's time to break out the bikinis with bathing suit season just around the corner. I have recently seen swimwear models showing off vibrant jewels to add that extra spice to their swimsuits! Summertime is one of my favorite seasons, and designer swimwear can be seen just about everywhere right now. Check out some of the hottest new trends and add that pop of color to stand out from the crowd, whether it be on the beaches of Mexico, a barge on Lake Austin, or in your own backyard pool!
