Embrace the 2011 Pantone Color of the Year

At the beginning of every year, fashion fanatics and interior designers anxiously await Pantone's release of the official "color of the year." I knew it would be tough to top my excitement after 2010's color was revealed to be turquoise (my absolute favorite color), but I was more than pleased to see that they had chosen beautiful, succulent honeysuckle pink as the color of the year for 2011. Pantone describes Honeysuckle as encouraging and uplifting and says that the color"elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life." I honestly could not think of a better color to represent 2011. Whether in your closet, jewelry box, make up bag or home, this color deserves to be incorporated into your life this year!

Fresh, vivid pink was a hot commodity on the Spring 2011 runway. Nina Ricci featured the color in skirts and tops while Michael Kors showed off a couple of dresses in this lush color.

Celebs have also been spotted rocking honeysuckle pink on the red carpet. Jesica Lowndes and Rachel Bilson wore adorable cocktail dresses in this flirty color while Claire Danes donned a gorgeous Calvin Klein gown at the Golden Globes.

Buy a few honeysuckle pieces to brighten up your closet, like this fun pleated mini skirt from Asos or this dress from Singer22.com - perfect for the beach!

This is a great color to accessorize with too! Add a pop of color to your everyday wear with Essie's Nail Color in Infatuation. Another way to brighten up an outfit is to throw on an amazing scarf or cross-body bag like this white and honey suckle color block scarf from Kate Spade or this Dooney and Bourke large equestrian cross body bag.

The PERFECT and easiest way to add bright color into your wardrobe is with jewelry, and I have several pieces in this warm and bright color. If you want to make a statement, try my Danielle Earrings in Bright Pink Jade or my Abena Cuff in Pink Jade. For a simple hint of the color, check out my Tavi Pendant Necklace in Bright Pink Jade.
