Fashion that Raises Awareness for Breast Cancer

Yesterday as I curled up on my couch to watch Sunday afternoon football, I really got a kick out of the bright pink cleats and gloves that the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers wore in their game. Every NFL team that played wore pink in Sunday’s games, reminding us all that we stand united in the fight against breast cancer. Find your favorite NFL team's breast cancer awareness merchandise, like this pink Saints jersey that I love,
and help support this wonderful cause. October marks the 25th year of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to awareness, education, and empowerment for the millions of women and their families who are living with or have suffered from breast cancer. This worldwide movement has raised millions of dollars to find a cure for this disease which effects 1 in every 8 women, and because of the research that the money raised has allowed, there are currently over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States alone.

In honor of this special month, we will also be providing our customers with the opportunity to donate to this cause AND save money. For the entire month of October, we are selling our custom Danielle Earrings in Rose Quartz and in Bright Pink Jade for $48 (regular $60), and a portion of the sales will be donated to breast cancer awareness.

There are many other fashionable items that you can buy and wear that also support this amazing cause. Ralph Lauren is celebrating their 10th anniversary for their Pink Pony line, which features many of their classic preppy polos and accessories in cute pink shades. 10% of the sales of all Pink Pony merchandise goes to the Pink Pony Fund, which gives money to programs for early breast cancer diagnosis, education, treatment and research, and supports bringing quality cancer care to medically underserved communities. I love this adorable and wearable cap and fun create your own polo from the Pink Pony line.

I also love this David Yurman limited edition Sterling Silver & Braided Ribbon Breast Cancer Bracelet, which he designed in honor of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Nordstrom is also using fashion as an outlet to raise awareness and money for breast cancer awareness with their Nordstrom Fits America program. Be sure to check out their bra-fitting event of the season, as they partner with participating lingerie brands in support of the Susan G. Koman for the Cure foundation. All month long you will find bra-fitting experts to help you find your perfect size and style, and for each participating brand of bra that is purchased, $2 will be donate to the Koman foundation. Some of my favorites are this sexy Betsey Johnson underwire bra in pink and this smart everyday SPANX racerback underwire bra that you can wear under
almost any top.

No matter what area of your jewelry box or closet needs sprucing up or replacing, you can buy items in almost any category and help make a difference in the path to finding a cure for breast cancer.
