Kendra's Philanthropy Wednesdays

As some of you may know, one of my company's core values is philanthropy, and giving back to my community is something that has always been very dear to my heart. Therefore, I have decided to dedicate my Wednesday blog posts to philanthropic efforts including activities I'm involved with to also featuring other people and companies that are giving back in significant ways.

As a mother of two precious boys, I know how extremely important education is for children, and Kendra Scott Jewelry is continuously donating to many local organizations and schools in order to help see that Austin-area children
receive the education they deserve. Here is a list of some of the wonderful upcoming events around Austin to which we are contributing.

Heart House Wine-Tasting Event "Grape Escape." 10/7 - All proceeds of this event benefit Austin's Heart House, a free after school program dedicated to providing a safe haven and academic support to low-income children. Heart House currently serves 200 children annually and the money they make at this event will support the opening of two additional Austin centers in the fall.

Women’s Symphony League of Austin
“Jewel Ball - Diamonds Are Forever.” 10/16 - Net proceeds from this Jewel Ball event will benefit the Austin Symphony Orchestra and its children's educational programs. The Austin Symphony is approaching its 100th year of providing music to all kinds for the entire Central Texas community. In addition to the Classical Pops Series, the ASO offers many programs free to all such as the Christmas Sing-A-Long, the Hartman Concerts in the Park and the Fourth of July Concert and Fireworks.

Good Shepherd Episcopal School Fundraiser. 11/11 - In order to keep school affordable while providing an exemplary educational experience for their students, Good Shepherd relies on fundraising money and funds given by their supporters. Many of my friend's have kids who go to this school, so I am thrilled to be able to help out by donating to this event.

Brentwood Christian School Annual Partnership Dinner. 11/5 - Brentwood Christian School is one of the largest private schools in Austin. The Partnership Dinner will take place at the Renaissance Austin Hotel and will be attended by 500 guests. It is the largest fundraiser conducted by BCS each year.

There are so many ways that you can give back to your community and world, and make a difference in someone's life, whether by giving donations from your own company, giving monetarily, or simply giving your time.

I'd love to hear about how you are engaged in giving back to your community. Share your stories and let's inspire one another!
