Kendra's Fashion Fridays: Paris Fashion Week

This year’s Paris Fashion Week outdid last year’s (as always) with Chanel’s 88 looks complete with a full orchestra, Sarah Burton’s debut collection for the late McQueen, and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton stepping into the Orient (his newest retail frontier). Front row at Chanel was a fashionable reunion for the New Yorkers of the hit show Gossip Girl and for other a-list stars like Kiera Knightly who showed off her new chic bob seen here at the Chanel show alongside Karl Lagerfield. Louis Vuitton and Haider Ackerman took us to the other side of the Pacific with Japanese inspired silk numbers. We also saw hints of Africa with wild animal prints zig-zagging across floor length dresses. With nine jam packed days consisting of over 90 shows, I did my fashion research and took note of these seven interesting Spring 2011 trends:

1. Japanese-Inspired Caftans at Haider Ackerman and Louis Vuitton.
2. Soft oranges on black at Alexander McQueen and Louis Vuitton.
3. Long 70’s-inspired tassle earrings at Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
4. Black on white at Vuitton and Chanel.
5. Bird feathers galore at McQueen and Chanel.
6. Cut-outs at McQueen and Chanel.
7. Boxy silhouettes at Chanel and Miu Miu.
